Summer day camps
The Fox Valley Special Recreation Association Summer Day Camp is designed for individuals with special needs, ages 3 through 25.
Separate camps are provided according to appropriate age and ability groups. The goal of the FVSRA Summer Day Camp program is to provide campers with an opportunity to experience a variety of recreational activities and to acquire and develop leisure skills while enjoying and appreciating the out of doors.
Camps offer a variety of leisure activities which include: sports and games, nature, drama, music, adventure activities, arts and crafts, swimming, age appropriate field trips, visits from special guests and special events. Activities will also be planned to teach the components of nutrition, hygiene and safety. Through these activities, counselors will assist campers in the develop-ment of fine and gross motor skills, perceptual and language skills, socialization, and appropriate behavior.

Camp Little Feathers (Ages 3 - 6)
Camp Little Feathers is designed for children of all abilities ages 3 - 6 years old. Campers will engage in sensory activities, gross and fine motor skills, crafts, cooking, sports skills, and swimming. Campers will work to also enhance their socialization skills. Camp staff are prepared to offer campers a nurturing approach allowing them to explore the world around them in an exciting and supportive environment.
Camp Rising Stars (Ages 7 - 14)
Camp Rising Stars is designed for children of all abilities ages 7 - 14 years old. Campers will enjoy a well rounded summer camp experience which includes sports, games, arts and crafts, and swimming. The goals of these activities are to increase independence, improve motor development, enhance social interactions and build peer relationships.
Camp Waubonsee Chiefs (Ages 7-21)
Camp Waubonsee Chiefs is designed for children of all abilities ages 7 - 21 years old who display a higher level of independence. Campers will participate in recreational activities designed to help retain school year academic skills. Sports, games, swimming and crafts are just some of the additional activities that will be provided.
Camp Adventure (Ages 7-12)
Camp Adventure is designed for children of all abilities ages 7 - 12 years old who have behavior disorders. Campers are guided through activities that increase self esteem, teach tolerance and responsibility and improve self help skills. Campers also have a unique opportunity to interact with campers from the Waubonsee Chiefs, and are given responsibilities to assist others and gain an awareness of other special populations.
Camp Dream Catchers (Ages 7-21)
Camp Dream Catchers is designed for children of all abilities ages 7 - 21 years old. Campers will engage in a wide variety of summer camp activities which will include sports, games, arts and crafts and swimming. The goals of these activities are to enhance creativity, increase independence, and improve motor development. Camp staff are trained to encourage campers to make new friends and take a creative approach to play.
Camp Soaring Eagles (Ages 15-20)
Camp Soaring Eagles is designed for children of all abilities ages 5 - 25 years old. The focus at this camp site is health, fitness and learning to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. The camp goals will include increasing independence, demonstrating daily living skills, improving social skills, and building peer realtionships. Campers will engage in a wide variety of summer camp activities which will include sports, games, arts and crafts and swimming.
