This year’s annual FVSRA Recognition Banquet was a night to remember! Held in a warm, inviting setting, the event brought together the FVSRA family, participants, supporters, staff, and community partners for an evening of celebration and gratitude. Attendees enjoyed cocktail hour, a delicious dinner, the awards presentation honoring some of FVSRA’s most dedicated members. The night concluded with music and dancing, marking another successful year of recognition to celebrate.
Award Recipients

- Coach of the Year: Kacie Jankowski – Kacie’s knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication inspire her athletes and keep the spirit of competition alive.
- Athlete of the Year: Emily West – Emily is known for her skill, sportsmanship, and support for her teammates.
- Youth Participant of the Year: Natalie Moser & Elijah Williams – These young participants are bright lights at FVSRA, bringing positivity, enthusiasm, and joy to every program.
- Adult Participant of the Year: AJ Pickelsimer & Keisha Fritz – AJ and Keisha’s positive energy and genuine connections with other participants embody FVSRA’s inclusive spirit.
- David Moisa Sportsmanship Award: Anthony Englin – Anthony’s positive attitude and encouragement of his teammates make him an exceptional role model.
- Bob Stuart Friend of the Year Award: Sarah McEwen, Batavia High School – A steadfast supporter, Sarah’s contributions help make program delivery possible.
- FVSRA Family/Parent of the Year: Jean Hess – Jean goes above and beyond to support FVSRA, showing up with enthusiasm and generosity.
- Part-Time Staff of the Year: Christa Leopold & Janelle Caraballo – Christa and Janelle’s willingness to go above and beyond enhances the FVSRA experience for everyone.
- Service Organization of the Year: St. Charles Noon Kiwanis – This organization’s dedication to supporting recreation for people with disabilities strengthens the Fox Valley community.
- Inclusion Supporter of the Year: Renee Oakley & Christy Graser, Red Oak Nature Center – Renee and Christy’s efforts create a welcoming space for all, ensuring successful inclusion in park programs.
- Summer Staff Excellence: Sophie Bordenave & Christy McCarney – These camp staff members bring positive energy and passion to every camp experience, making a difference for both campers and fellow staff.
- Mike Glower Sunshine Award: Alison Newton & Sam Phelan – Alison and Sam embody kindness, positivity, and passion, honoring the legacy of former employee Mike Glower.
- Partnership Award: South Elgin Parks & Recreation – This organization has supported FVSRA by providing space, accommodations, and resources throughout the year.
- Foundation Pillar Award: Jim & Colleen MacRunnels – The MacRunnels tirelessly support FVSRA, working behind the scenes to keep the foundation strong.
